1. An Introduction to the Philosophy of Mind, Brain and Consciousness
Human Brain and Mind, Brain and computer, Nature of Mental states, Mind and Machine, Human intelligence-vis-à-vis Artificial Intelligence, Levels of Consciousness, Is Consciousness an epiphenomenon? Consciousness in Lower animals, Consciousness in plants, Elements of Modern Psychology.
2. Scientific Approaches to Consciousness
(A) Quantum Physics and Consciousness
de Broglie wave-particle duality, Double Slit Experiment, Heisenberg’s Uncertainty Principle and its philosophical significance, Wave Function, Schrödinger Equation, Born’s Interpretation, EPR Paradox, Copenhagen interpretation, Wigner Interpretation, Bohm’s Explicit and Implicit Order, Measurement Problem in Quantum theory and the Role of Observer.
